Greater Binghamton Airport to get New York State Funds
The Greater Binghamton Airport is in line to get a share of $23.6 million in grants be allocated for 31 airports in New York State.
Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization Competition is awarding $1.5 million to the Ithaca Tompkins International Airport for an aircraft fuel facility improvement project. That's in addition to $14 million the state is footing of a $24.7 million upgrade currently underway.
Elmira-Corning Regional Airport is also getting $1.5 million in the competition. That award is for a photovoltaic solar parking facility. The Chemung County airport previously was awarded $40 million from the state for a terminal upgrade project.
The Greater Binghamton Airport is getting $828,000in the competition for upgrading aircraft fuel facilities.
