And then, it was as though the heavens opened and a glorious light was shone down on us with the announcement that New York would be lifting all state-mandated Covid restrictions immediately.

One day there were rumblings that people were getting sick and chatter that something serious was happening in our world and then the next, we found ourselves shut down. Just chopped off at the knees as far as what we were allowed to do and where we were allowed to go. We had officially stepped into a global pandemic called the 'Coronavirus Pandemic.'

On June 15, 2021, day 472 of New York being under state-mandated COVID restrictions, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the state had gone from having the highest COVID positivity rate in the country to the lowest and that officials felt it was safe to fully open New York and so, it was done.

As New York gets back to living life, exciting things are happening including the return of concerts, something so many of us have missed for so long.

On Tuesday, June 15, Broome County Parks announced the return of the Broome Bands Together Summer Concert Series at Otsiningo Park in Binghamton.

The Broome Bands Together Summer Concert Series offers free, family-friendly concerts in the park every Tuesday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Broome Bands Together Summer Concert Series at Otsiningo Park will kick off on Tuesday, July 6 with Beard of Bees and will conclude on Tuesday, August 17 with Wreckless Marci.

Visit the Broome County Parks website to see a complete list of Broome Bands Together Summer Concert Series performers as well as rain dates.
