Former Binghamton Sportscaster Goes Viral For Covering Pro Pitcher Brother
I was talking with a co-worker about how excited we are that baseball season has finally arrived. As of this writing, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies are set for a beautiful day in their home opener at Mirabito Stadium. It's great to have baseball back in Binghamton.
During our conversation, my co-worker mentioned how he heard about a former WNBG-TV sports reporter's brother who is a pitcher for the Texas Rangers major league baseball team.
Robyn Hearn worked for WBNG-TV beginning in 2020 and left to go back to her home state of Texas to become the sports director at KAUZ in Wichita Falls. Her bother is Taylor Hearn, who is a major league baseball pitcher for the Texas Rangers. Taylor got the nod to be the starting pitcher for their game on April 11.
According to the MLB.com website, that game between the Rangers and the Colorado Rockies went 10 innings with the Rockies winning 6 to 4. Taylor was the starting pitcher and did a great job for four innings, allowing only one run on eight hits and one walk.
But what was even more interesting, Robyn was at the game, covering it for her TV station, and she got the opportunity to ask her brother, Taylor a great question during the post-game interview. Taylor gave an amazing answer. Check out the question and answer below from an MLB Tweet.
Their family must be so proud of them both, and this was a moment they will never forget. Here's the response to the question and answer from Robyn and Taylor, on Robyn's Twitter page:
