Former Endicott School to Be Converted to Apartments

A developer plans to transform an old Union-Endicott building into a 71-unit apartment complex.

Housing Visions of Syracuse is working to turn the former Henry B. Endicott School into a residential facility.

Chris Trevisani, director of development for Housing Visions, said the total cost of the project is estimated at between $17 million and $20 million.

The former school now is owned by Marchuska Development. Justin Marchuska said Housing Visions has a contract to purchase the property.

Marchuska said there currently are about 17 tenants in the building. If the housing project moves forward, they could be relocated to a nearby site.

The site includes the old school building on Jackson Avenue in Endicott and a parking area on Kentucky Avenue just outside the village in the town of Union.

The town board has scheduled a public hearing on a proposed rezoning of the Kentucky Avenue parcel. The developer wants the property's zoning to be changed from industrial to urban multi-family.

The hearing will be held March 21 at 7 p.m. at the town hall on East Main Street in Endwell.
