Fairview Recovery Plans to Use Old Town of Dickinson School
The former St. Ann's School building in the town of Dickinson may soon be utilized by an agency that assists people with substance abuse issues.
Town supervisor Michael Marinaccio says Fairview Recovery Services is planning to expand its operations into the unused school at 19 Adams Street.
Fairview Recovery's Voices Recovery Center is located in a neighboring building at 340 Prospect Street.
Marinaccio said the agency plans to renovate the former school to provide 15 apartments and some offices.
The town planning board has conducted a preliminary review of the project. Members suggested some landscaping and decorative fencing be incorporated into the plans.
A zoning variance will be needed to address the parking needs related to the facility.
Fairview Recovery Services representatives could not be reached to comment on when work for the project could get underway.
