Eye health experts are saying by switching from contacts to glasses during the COVID-19 crisis, you could be helping protect yourself against the virus, according to 6ABC.

It makes sense. Contact lens wearers touch their eyes more than the average person, with having to put them in and take them out daily. But, If they're not in, and you're wearing glasses, you won't have to touch your eyes as much and risk infection, right? Right.

The article quotes Dr. Sonal Tulsi, with the American Academy of Ophthalmology,  as saying, "Substituting glasses for lenses can decrease irritation and force you to pause before touching your eye."

But, if you must wear your contacts, just make sure you wash your hands really well before touching your eyes. Remember, wash them while singing the ABC song...twice.

If you tend to adjust your glasses a lot, the American Academy of Ophthalmology says keep a tissue handy, instead of using your fingers.
