Endicott Water System to be Flushed

The Endicott Water System is looking to clear things up.

In an effort to alleviate the on-going problem of discolored water in the system, crews will be flushing the transmission water mains from 9 p.m. May 20 to 5 a.m. May 21.

Customers are asked to not use their water during that time.

Officials say the area of most discoloration is expected south of Pine Street.

You do not need to boil water, but cold, not hot, water should be run after 5 a.m. May 21 if there is still cloudy or discolored water to clear the pipes before using.
