Endicott Apple Festival Canceled
Just like pretty much every other Binghamton festival that was supposed to take place this summer, the Coronavirus has caused the cancellation of Endicott's annual Apple Festival.
This year would have been the 35th annual kick-off to fall on Washington Avenue in Endicott. The Endicott Apple Festival made the announcement on their Facebook page on August 4. They stated that the health and safety of everyone involved is their number one priority. They also released the date for next year's Apple Festival, it will take place Saturday September 18. This year's event was scheduled to take place on Saturday September 19.
If you've never been to the Endicott Apple Festival, let me tell you what you are missing. Washington Avenue in Endicott is lined every year with vendors selling all types of merchandise as well as many different food vendors selling all types of food. There is always live music to be enjoyed as well. It's also a nice little economic boost for the businesses on and near Washington Avenue.
I really hope that we as a country can get coronavirus under control so we can enjoy all these summer events like the Apple festival next year.
The Apple Festival joins the list of local events that were canceled due to the Coronavirus. That list includes the Broome County Fair, The Dick's Sporting Goods Open, The Strawberry Festival, and July Fest just to name a few.
