Death of 11-Year-Old Girl in Norwich Ruled Homicide

Police are investigating the death of an 11-year-old girl in Chenango County as a homicide.

Authorities released some information about the case late Tuesday afternoon.

According to New York State Police, troopers were sent to a home at 961 County Route 33 in the Town of Norwich on Sunday. There had been a report of a girl in cardiac arrest.

When police arrived at the residence, they found 11-year-old Jacelyn O'Connor of Morris in Otsego County had died.

A police statement said the investigation has determined the girl was the victim of a homicide. No additional details were released.
