In a media release Howard Rittberg, spokesman from title sponsor Levene Gouldin & Thompson said "With the uncertainty surrounding this pandemic and its effect on both our community and the broader sports world, organizers have made the difficult decision to cancel the Binghamton Tennis Challenger this summer."

Officials connected with the event say they expect the tournament to return in 2021.  The 27th season will make it one of the longest running such tournaments in the country.  The City of Binghamton is expected to construct new tennis courts at Recreation Park prior to the 2021 tournament.
