Cortland Sheriff’s Office Wants to Talk to Caller About Weekend Walmart Threat

Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say they’d like to talk to the person who called to report someone with a gun inside the Cortlandville Walmart August 10.

The store was closed as a precaution and responding officers were unable to locate any suspicious person.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s office says the Walmart store on Bennie Road got the call warning about an armed person at 6:23 p.m. and several police agencies responded including deputies, New York State Police and the Cortland City Police.

The investigation is continuing.
