Contracts Awarded for $10 Million Binghamton Parking Project
The city of Binghamton has awarded bids on several construction contracts for a long-delayed downtown parking garage.
The project site is at 7 Hawley Street, just west of City Hall. The $10 million facility is expected to provide 300 parking spaces.
According to Binghamton Mayor Richard David's office, the general construction contract was awarded to William H. Lane Incorporated of Binghamton.
Petcosky and Sons of Vestal won the plumbing and mechanical contracts. The electrical contract was awarded to Schuler-Haas Electric Corporation of Johnson City.
The garage plans call for precast concrete fabrication.
Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program, the mayor said groundbreaking could occur in early April if the weather cooperates.
David said the current timeline calls for the facility to be open by the end of the year.
