Congressman Anthony Brindisi, who had called for the full release of the report, told reporters April 18 it’s time to focus more attention on the pressing matters of residents that he’s hearing about in Town Hall Meetings.

The Democrat said it would do no good to “get bogged down” over the next year and a half over the information in the report.  Brindisi says Congress needs to focus on solving problems facing residents right now like high prescription drug prices, jobs and battling the opioid crisis.

Other Democrats are still calling for the release of the full report while Republicans say the Independent Counsel took two years to investigate allegations of Russian interference, collusion and governmental obstruction. It came to its conclusions and released what information it could. Case closed.

When lawmakers get back to Washington, they are expected to have a less-redacted version of the over 400-page report that was released April 18.
