A Cincinnatus man is facing numerous charges after leading Cortland County Sheriff’s officials on a wild chase that ended with the man’s Camaro buried in a grove of trees.

Deputies say 27 year old Derick Ledger was seen passing two vehicles on Route 11 in the Town of Cortlandville in a no passing zone at 10:57 p.m. May 12, hitting numerous street signs and trees and driving through yards to avoid police and stop sticks.

The chase traveled through two townships on East River Road, Parks Road and Ames Road.

He was taken into custody after crashing on Ames Road in the Town of Homer.

Authorities say Ledger was not hurt.

He is charged with felony unlicensed operation and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance and failure to comply with police.

Ledger was sent to the Cortland County Jail without bail.
