Check Out These Commemorative Coronavirus Tattoos
Tattoo and piercing parlors are set to open up in Phase Three of the New York reopening plan set forth by Governor Cuomo. Speculation is that the Capital District is getting close to entering Phase Three and could open June 17. That means it's time to get some new ink!
I have a few tattoos so I understand how difficult, if not impossible, it will be for 6 feet of social distancing while you're actually getting a tattoo. For the most part, getting a tattoo is a pretty up-close-and personal thing. So, what will the new guidelines look like when they do open? More space between tattoo artists, planning and sketching your tattoo by video conference, and having to make an appointment. Plus, lots and lots of cleaning and sterilizing, which the good tattoo parlors already do anyway.
Once the tattoo parlors reopen in the Capital Region are you getting something new? I've had a few friends tell me that they have been planning, sketching, and talking to their favorite artists about what they are going to get once they are allowed to reopen.
- Limit the workforce and customer presence to no more than 50 percent of the maximum occupancy, inclusive of customers.
- Customers must maintain six feet of separation from others, except during the service.
- Customers must be wearing a face covering to be permitted entry.
- Employees must wear a face-covering anytime they interact with customers.
- Maintain social distancing in customer seating areas, cash registers and appointment desks unless there is a physical barrier.
- Close waiting rooms.
Personally, I'm not looking to get a coronavirus commemorative tattoo, but a lot of other people have. Check out these fine examples of some really cool and some really cringe-worthy COVID-19 inspired ink.

Last tattoo I've done before the lockdown. Ironic, isn't it? More of you were interested in getting this one. If we survive, I'm happy to do other versions of it, with different satanizer bottles. #satanizertattoo #handsanitizer #handsanitizertattoo #coronavid19 #coronavirus #coronavirustattoos #blackinktattoo #blacklinetattoo #whipshadingtattoo #dotworktattoo #flashtattoo #flashworkers #flashlovers #flashaddicted #tattooaddicts #tattooidea #bournemouthtattoo #pooletattoo #southamptontattoo #londontattoo #uktattoo #uktta #tattoo #inked #tattoosoftheday #tattoosofinstagram #tattoos A post shared by Cristina Superstea (@supersteatattoo) on
