Caution Urged Around Rain-Swollen Twin Tier Tributaries
The National Weather Service in Binghamton says there is a potential for some more heavy rain and that could cause issues with area waterways.
While the region is getting a break from heavy weather and even steady rain for a couple days, the ground is still saturated and rivers and streams running high, continuing concerns about spot flooding.

The National Weather Service says in a Hazardous Weather Outlook updated at 3:30 a.m. July 20 that isolated severe thunderstorms and locally heavy rain are possible overnight on Tuesday.
NOAA says scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast to move into the area late in the afternoon, lasting into the night.
A few of the strongest storms could become severe with damaging wind gusts and large hail, especially in Central New York.
Again, with soils still very wet from several bouts of rain during the past week, isolated flash flooding will also be possible.
Locations that recently experienced flooding, will be more vulnerable to additional rainfall.
Also, with waterways running high and fast, people are advised to stay away from rivers and streams and especially keep a close watch on children and pets.
