Canadian Border Will Close To Non-Essential Travel
Per USA Today, the United States-Canada border will soon close to all non-essential travel.
Travelers will no longer be able to cross the border for either recreational or tourism reasons. Essential travel and supply chains will not be affected by the restriction--food, fuel, medicine and more necessities can continue to pass through the border. Trucking will not be affected by the new travel ban.
According to USA Today, the travel restrictions will begin "soon":
He noted Canada is working with the U.S. so measures can begin quickly, and the Canada Border Services Agency has adequate resources to meet the challenge of ensuring the ban's enforcement.
At this time it's not clear how long the travel ban will remain in effect, although the decision to reopen will be made jointly by US and Canadian authorities.
