Byrne Dairy to Build Endwell Store at Old "Grand Union" Site

Just days after announcing plans for a second Broome County convenience store, Byrne Dairy has revealed it intends to open a third Binghamton-area shop.

The Syracuse-based company wants to build a store at 3100 Watson Boulevard in Endwell.

The 1.2-acre site is on the southeast corner of Watson and North Kelly Avenue. It's located just west of a Mirabito convenience store.

During a town of Union planning board meeting, Byrne representative Erin Brown said the company's plan calls for construction of a 4,232-square-foot store.

Although the store would be similar to one now being built on East Main Street in Endicott, Brown said it would have only three fuel pumps instead of four.

A Grand Union supermarket had occupied the site for decades. The building then was used by a carpet store. It was demolished in April 2016.

The property is owned by Thomas and Judith Mazzanoble of Binghamton.

The Endicott Byrne Dairy & Deli store is expected to open in late May. Byrne also is planning to open a location on Route 11 in the village of Whitney Point.
