Burger King has launched a new, plant-based, vegan sausage called the Impossible Croissan’wich. The Impossible sausage is served on a flaky croissant. The Impossible sausage was created by Impossible Foods, known for its vegan and plant-based substitutions.

The press release reads, "after a successful test earlier this year in select U.S. markets, BK guests across the country can now get the same Croissan’wich breakfast sandwich they know and love with a delicious Impossible Sausage Made From Plants . . . This new menu item makes Burger King the first national restaurant to offer Impossible Sausage Made From Plants on a breakfast sandwich.”

The statement continued with, "The all-new, limited-time-only Impossible Croissan’wich features a toasted flaky croissant, fluffy eggs, melted American cheese and a seasoned sausage made from plants from Impossible Foods."

According to People Magazine, to promote the launch, anyone who downloads the Burger King app and orders food, at a $1 minimum, will get to try the new Impossible Croissan’wich for free. This is only available at participating locations and will be limited to 100,000 Impossible Croissan’wiches in total.

Last year, Burger King introduced its Impossible Whopper. Their promo was to prank and serve their most loyal customers the Impossible Whopper and then filming their reaction when they found out it was a plant-based alternative.

The chain claims, “the first coast-to-coast quick-service restaurant to serve the award-winning, plant-based patty from food startup Impossible Foods."

The Impossible Croissan’wich is available in the U.S. for $3.99.
