Bullet Fired in Binghamton Gun Battle Ends Up in Someone’s Closet
Binghamton police say a bullet went through the window of a downtown building and wound up inside an apartment closet.
Authorities say two people fired shots at each other on Prospect Avenue between Henry and Lewis streets shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday.
A large crowd was dispersing when police officers responding to a shots fired call arrived at an apartment building at 41 Prospect Avenue.
Investigators determined a bullet from the incident struck a window in an apartment building at 110 Chenango Street and "came to rest in a closet."
The apartment resident was not hurt and police say no injuries were reported as a result of the gun battle.
