The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team kept its playoff hopes alive with a 76-74 road win over the UMBC Retrievers in Baltimore on Wednesday night.  Pierre Sarr hit a three-point basket with 30 seconds remaining to give Binghamton a 74-73 lead,  Richie Caldwell Jr. iced it for the Bearcats by making a pair of free throws with four seconds remaining and the Bearcats held off the Retrievers for a 76-74 victory.

Binghamton's win snapped a five-game winning streak for the Retrievers and keeps the Bearcats playoff hopes alive.  While Binghamton was defeating UMBC the New Hampshire Wildcats topped the Maine Black Bears 77-70 to keep the Black Bears at 3-11 while Binghamton moves to 4-11.  BU has one game remaining in the regular season at New Hampshire on Saturday.  Maine has a pair of games left including a Saturday home game  versus UMBC and a Tuesday night game at Hartford. Binghamton is now one game up on Maine for the final playoff spot in the America East.
