A Broome County restaurant that had a positive test for the coronavirus early in the pandemic back in April is again identified as a possible exposure site.

The Broome County Health Department last week announced a person at the Greek House Restaurant on Main Street in Westover August 18 between 11 a.m. and noon had tested positive and anyone who had been at the business at that time should self-quarantine until September 2. 

All residents are reminded to wear masks when out in public, maintain a six-foot distance between individuals and frequently wash hands and sanitize commonly touched surfaces.

August 30, New York State reported 698 new cases of COVID-19 for a total of 434,100. There were eight deaths August 29 for a total of 25,327 New Yorkers who have been claimed by the pandemic.

The state tested a record 100,022 people for the coronavirus Saturday with .69% coming back positive. That makes 23 days in a row that the infection rate in the state has come in below 1%.

August 30, Broome County reported a total of 1,205 positive tests for the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic. That's an increase of 77 cases over the course of the previous week.  There have been 78 deaths.

Chenango County reported 224 cases August 30, an addition of one from the previous report and a total of 7 deaths.

Cortland County has a total of 94 positive cases.

Delaware County added two cases August 29 for a total of 106 reported Sunday and six deaths.

Tioga County reported one additional case from August 28 for a total of 221 positives and 25 deaths.
