There have been 31 new positive tests for the coronavirus in Broome County over the past week.

The daily report September 24 put the total number of cases in the county at 1,377. That is 12 more than the report the previous day and 31 more than the 1,346 reported on September 20.

New York State says Chenango County is unchanged at 248 cases. Cortland County reports three new cases over the past day for 209. Delaware County is unchanged at 120 cases and Tioga County reports two new cases for a total of 233. No counties in the Southern Tier have reported any additional deaths from COVID-19.

New York State has had its positive results for testing for the coronavirus go over one percent for the first time in days. The state reports1.02% percent of the record number of tests (92,953) for the virus that causes COVID-19 came back positive on September 23 for 955 new cases. There were two additional deaths state-wide for a total of 25,439 New Yorkers whose deaths have been attributed to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic 208 days ago.
