Broome County has reached a milestone in the coronavirus pandemic, marking 600 positive cases since the outbreak began in mid-March.

On the 100th day of the COVID-19 pandemic, Broome County Executive Jason Garnar announced the additional cases including three more at the county-run Willow Point Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. The new cases bringing the number of infections at the Vestal nursing home to 47. The county has had 45 deaths from COVID-19. 482 people have recovered from the coronavirus.

Elsewhere in the region, Chenango County has had 135 cases and 5 deaths, Cortland County 45 cases and 1 death, Delaware County 78 cases and 5 deaths and Tioga County 144 cases and 22 deaths.

Day 100 of the coronavirus pandemic also brings the start of the reopening of New York City under phase one of the lifting of restrictions.  Governor Andrew Cuomo announced 702 new cases of the virus.  New York State has had 378,799 positive cases and 24,299 deaths.
