A Broome County man faces a felony charge following an altercation in the presence of children.

Authorities say 41-year-old Thomas Moore Jr. of Sanford was arrested Friday afternoon by New York State Police.

Moore was accused of choking someone during a dispute on Thursday.

Investigators say the other person tried to go to a neighbor’s residence with the children but an altercation began.

The person who allegedly was choked then drove to the state police station in Deposit to report the incidet.

Troopers tried to find Moore but were unable to make contact with him. He turned himself in to state police the following day.
