Broome County Department of Public Works Commissioner Leslie Boulton recently received high honors as the 2019 Outstanding Civil Engineer in Government.

The award was presented by the American Society of Civil Engineers, an organization made up of over 150,000 members and is one of the oldest engineering organizations in the nation.

According to a press release from the Broome Country Government Offices  the award recognizes the outstanding engineering effort of government service engineers, who further advance the civil engineering profession.

Broome County Executive Jason Garnar was on hand for the presentation and was quoted in the press release as saying “This is an amazing recognition and I can think of no one more deserving,” “Thank you to Commissioner Boulton for her commitment to Broome County and the incredible work she does leading our Department of Public Works each and every day.”

Commissioner Boulton said “Receiving this award from ASCE is an honor, and I am thankful to the New York Council for this professional recognition,”
