Some researchers at Binghamton University are getting grants to pursue projects dealing with COVID-19.

The University says three teams are being awarded grants of up to $10,000 for proposals developing new LED UVC lighting  system sanitizers to be used in closed indoor spaces including offices, restaurants, gyms and subways, coming up with low-cost sensors that can detect SARS-CoV-2 on surfaces and assessing the effectiveness of telemental health services for the state’s marginalized and vulnerable children and families during the pandemic in order to be able to train social work students to serve high-needs areas.

A total of 12 teams of State University of New York students and faculty across seven campuses have been awarded up to $10,000 each in seed funding to conduct further research.
