Binghamton Second Best Food City in Upstate New York
Last week, we saw a story where Binghamton and Johnson City both made the top 10 most dangerous places to live in New York state. That was a list that no city wants to be on, here's a list that every city in Upstate New York wishes they were on.
New York Upstate just ranked the the best cities for food and upstate. According to their list, Binghamton finished second over all beating out cities like Buffalo at number 6, Syracuse at number 10, and Rochester at number 11.
The list was comprised by a man named Chuck D'Imperio who wrote a book called “A Taste of Upstate New York: A Guide To 40 Treasures”. D'Imperio claims that he has eaten in just about every city across upstate New York.
On his list of the top 12, he mentions the crown jewel dish of the city, bucket list restaurant in the town, and a surprise treat. For the Binghamton area it's no surprise that the crown jewel dish is the spiedie. His bucket list restaurant for our area was Lupo's S&S Char Pit, who D'Imperio claims has the best spiedies. And he gave the nod to Little Venice Restaurant for the surprise treat.
One of the best things about living in the Greater Binghamton area is all the great restaurants we have. Just about any kind of food you can imagine, from any country in the world, can be found here in the Triple Cities area. From fine dining, to casual restaurants, to bars with awesome food, we have it all.
With all the chain restaurants and local restaurants, we are truly blessed to have plenty of great choice when it's time to go out to eat.
