Detectives are looking for suspects after gunfire erupted in a residential neighborhood on the South Side of Binghamton.

Authorities say shots rang out around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday on McNamara Avenue.

Detective Lieutenant Robert Fimbres said the incident happened just east of Mill Street.

Fimbres said patrol officers found no one in the area when they arrived after the shots were heard. He said a parked car had been struck by one shot. Several spent shell casings were recovered at the scene.

Police have received no reports that anyone was injured.

Fimbres said investigators have been interviewing people in connection with the incident. It had not been determined whether the shooting was related with any other cases in the city.
