Binghamton Bus Station Closing to Commercial Traffic
The Broome County executive is shutting down the downtown Binghamton bus station to commercial traffic because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Jason Ganar announced the move Thursday afternoon. He said the order pertaining to the Greater Binghamton Transportation Center will be effective at midnight.
Garnar is "suspending all boarding, departing, stops and transfers for commercial bus traffic."
The change will not affect B.C. Transit buses which will continue to operate as scheduled.
Garnar also has signed an emergency order requiring hotel and motel operators, landlords and all other temporary lodging providers verify that new occupants are in compliance with the county's unnecessary travel order.
The county executive said four more coronavirus cases were confirmed in Broome on Thursday, bringing the total number of cases to 14.
