I was just on the Binghamton University campus this weekend as I attended the America concert at the Anderson Center.

I was looking around the campus and thinking to myself this is a really nice setup, especially with the Anderson Center and the Event Center.

There have been plenty of additions to Binghamton campus since 1961 when the college was built. There are still some older buildings on campus. but I think that adds to the charm of the school.

This morning I found a list online from Complex ranking, as they put it, “The 50 Ugliest College Campuses” in the United States.

As I started scrolling through their list I found Ithaca College at number 45 and I thought to myself I've been on that college campus a couple of times and didn't think it was ugly at all.

As I scroll down, I started seeing a bunch of SUNY schools on the list. They ranked Binghamton as the 15th ugliest campus in the US. Other SUNY schools that made their list included; number 12 SUNY Albany, number 7 Stony Brook, number 5 SUNY Buffalo, and SUNY Purchase finished fourth on the list.

Here is what Complex had to say about B.U.,

“Apparently, during the 1960s and 1970s, the state of New York didn't care much for architectural aesthetics. Similar to its brethren, SUNY Binghamton is a grim, utilitarian Modernist campus. Some have compared the facilities to that of a public high school, which is a statement that could be made for the rest of the SUNY network, as well”.

And even though that might be true, I feel that the author of this article should have mentioned some of the state of the art buildings that have been added to the Vestal campus since the 70's. By not mentioning the newer buildings, I don't think it was a fair review of the school.

As a resident of of Broome County, I am proud of Binghamton University. And besides,  you know what they say, "Opinions are like butt holes... everybody has one".
