American Pickers Ride Into The Southern Tier Of New York
I have to admit that I've never watched the History Channel's "American Pickers" and that surprises me because I love antique-type stuff. I think the reason that I haven't watched is because I knew if I saw it once, I would binge-watch it.
American Pickers love to travel all over the country, where they'll find antique collectors that have treasures that they would be willing to part with for a price. They've made several trips to the Southern Tier in the past.
The crew came to town in 2013 and filmed at the now-closed Showtime Costumes in Binghamton. While they were here, they also visited Niki and Ronnie Striss who had a barn filled with treasures and the show aired in 2014.
Over the weekend, the American Pickers made another trip to the Southern Tier and were in Owego. There had been reports that the Pickers were town to shoot a future episode and even a sighting on Lake Street.

While they were in town, Mike Wolfe and Jersey Jon heard about a car that was being restored at 2nd Time Around Restorations in Apalachin. They were restoring a car for a customer when they stopped in to see it and their shop.
They really liked the 1910 Indian that they were also restoring. Mike and Jon visited for around a hour and bought some items but you'll have to wait and watch to find out what treasures they obtained.

They even went to the Santa Jam fundraiser for BC Toys for Tots in Apalachin and made a nice donation to the cause. You know it's big when the American Pickers AND Tim Ruffo are in the house.
American Pickers is in its 23rd season and it's on the History Channel. If you tune in on Thursday, November 17th, you can binge watch beginning at 7 a.m. with The Empire Picks Back episode.
Speaking of antiques and history, here's a piece of fire fighting history for you to enjoy.
