Amanda Bynes Gives Interview After Five Years of Silence
Following a five-year hiatus, Amanda Bynes has given her first interview about her sober life and future plans. Although the former child star has tweeted sparingly to update fans about her happenings in the past couple of years, she hasn't had a public appearance since she started suffering from a severe drug addiction and mental health issues.
In the interview with Diana Madison of The Lowdown, Bynes touches on topics ranging from hot costars to her classes at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (Lauren Conrad is an alumna). Bynes says she hopes to start her own fashion line with help from her school classes.
When she's not working on her degree, the Hairspray and Easy A actress engages in a number of activities to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
"I hike," she says, "I take spinning classes. I feed the homeless -- and that's been really interesting and fun."
It seems like Bynes has an unfulfilled ache for at least part of her past, though.
“I do miss acting and I actually have something surprising to tell you," she says, "I’m going to start acting again...I want to do TV, maybe a few guest spots on some shows that I’m a fan of and maybe another TV show where I’m the star of it, in the future. That's what I hope.”
Whatever she chooses, we wish Bynes the best of luck for a healthy and a happy life.
