5 Seconds of Summer have shared a new promo video and song teaser for their new single debuting May 23.

The new track, "Easier," seems to have a darker vibe with both a heavier rock sound and electronic edge in the 15-second teaser.  In the video itself, there is fire everywhere and member Luke Hemmings is chained up for some reason. (Even the band members seem to be on fire?)

The new single was co-written by OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder. "A song I’m ecstatic about is the new 5 Seconds of Summer song," Tedder said in an interview with Official Charts. "I’ll put it this way, it has a little Nine Inch Nails in it.” It's safe to say that this song will be heavier for the band.

Charlie Puth also cryptically tweeted just the band's name, which the band retweeted. Could he have a hand in the new music, or is he just a fan?

On Saturday, May 18, member Michael Clifford made a surprise appearance performing with Lovelytheband at their Hangout Music Festival set. This fall, the band will be supporting The Chainsmokers on their headlining tour alongside Lennon Stella.

Fans had a lot of reactions to the song and are ready for the new 5 Seconds of Summer music. Check out their reactions, below!
