2020 Town of Union Fourth of July Spectacular Cancelled
The Town of Union announced yesterday that their annual Fourth of July Spectacular and Fireworks display, held at Highland Park, is canceled for this year.
The annual Independence Day celebration attracts hundreds of families to the park on Hooper Road to enjoy the holiday with some family fun. Every year the event features a 5K run and walk, vendors, live entertainment, and children's games, and every year it capped off by the biggest fireworks display in the Binghamton area. The public pool and carousel are also popular attractions on the 4th. Of July.
On Independence day, not only is Highland Park packed with people, but a lot of residents in that section of Endwell throw parties at their houses for friends and family members. A lot of those parties last until at least 9 p.m. When the annual fireworks display starts.
One of the other big events that was cancelled yesterday by the Town of Union was the American Car Cruisers Car Show which also takes place at Highland Park in the middle of June.
Those were just two of the announced cancellations Due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The According to their website, the Town of Union announced that all shelter rentals for May and June have been canceled at all the parks that are run by the town. If you had already placed a deposit to rent one of the pavilions, your deposit will be refunded. So far they haven't cancelled the shelter rentals for July and August.
The Town of Union board also said that all summer recreation programs are canceled, and that the carousels and pools will be closed until further notice.
