$15.5 Million Maine-Endwell Capital Project Plan Passes

Voters in the Maine-Endwell School District have approved a plan to spend nearly $15.5 million on capital projects.

The proposal passed in a Tuesday referendum by a 486 to 93 margin.

Much of the planned work will be done at Homer Brink Elementary School on Briar Lane.

The school has experienced a significant increase in enrollment over the last three years. Four classrooms and a new gymnasium will be added at the school.

Various improvements, including security upgrades, are to be made at all four schools in the district.

Equipment at the Maine-Endwell bus garage also will be replaced.

Design work for the projects is scheduled to be completed in the next few weeks. The plans then will be reviewed by the state education department.

The school district's timetable calls for construction work to start next May. The projects should be completed by the end of 2021.
