What Does Friend Zone Mean?

I have to be honest, it has been quite a while since I personally have been put in the friend zone. I've put other people in the friend zone but I'm gonna say it's been since high school until recently.

I have come to realize that a lot of people have no idea what being put in the "friend zone" actually means! It's when you are friends with someone of the opposite sex, start to like them and they use the old "Aw but I just want to be friends" or "I don't want to ruin our friendship" or " I've never looked at you as more than a friend."

Let's use the term in a conversation so you get the idea.

Holly: Tanya, Matt Damon just put me in the friend zone!

Tanya: Aw girl I'm sorry, what did he say?

Holly: He doesn't want to be more than friends.

Such is life. I'm sure everyone has been on both ends of this situation, neither of which is pleasant. Hopefully now, you understand what being in the friend zone means and hopefully it never happens to you!
