Not all of us thrive at 4:50 in the morning, like I know my father does (my poor mother!). I do better at, say, 8:30 or 9. We are not all wired to be productive members of society at unholy hours of the day. But Bustle mentions a few things that even us nine o'clockers can learn from those four a.m.-ers.

  • They get up extra early which studies have shown that early risers are overall more agreeable and more optimistic. Rising early allows you to complete tasks in peace and quiet before your whole household wakes up, too.
  • They have breakfast and every one knows that it is more important meal of the day! If you wake up too late, breakfast tends to be the first thing that you skip in your morning routine.
  • They exercise! Believe it or not, exercising first thing in the morning can keep you energized for the whole rest of the day and it has also been shown to improve your mental ability.

You will not become a morning person overnight, but with some determination, you'll be running a 5k for 5am before you know it!
