Having someone that wants to share a bed with you is such a wonderful and comforting feeling, but Bustle and the mattress company Dream says that more and more couples are choosing to sleep in separate beds. There are ways in which you and your significant other can learn to sleep together and still get great sleep.

  • Work out a compromise and let your partner know that you need your own space when you sleep. Cuddling is fantastic, but cuddling all night long can lead to aches and pains the next morning.
  • Choose the middle ground on the thermostat if you both cannot agree on a comfortable room setting. Some people like it cold when they sleep, others need a warmer room in order to fall asleep.
  • See your doctor if you snore or encourage your partner to see their doctor if they snore at night, and it is keeping you from getting a good night's rest. It's always good to get to the root of the problem as it may be affecting other aspects of your physical health and your relationship.

Being able to sleep next to your partner is something special that your single friends can't always experience, so if there are some minor things that you and your significant other can work on to sleep together in the same bed, definitely try to do it!
