Ways To Be More Gracious In 2019
I always make some sort of resolution at the start of every New Year, but what if this year my resolution was to be more gracious? Bustle and Forbes says that there are some great, creative ways to be more gracious in 2019.
- Perform a daily act of kindness which could be something as simple as holding the door open for the person behind you when you walk into a building or helping your neighbor carry in their groceries from the car.
- Identify five things that you're grateful for every single day as it can be hard to recall all of the great things going on in your life if you're going through a tough time at the moment. You can jot them down in a journal if you would like or just take a couple minutes each day to meditate on those five good things.
- Write a letter of appreciation to someone who has been especially kind to you or who made an impression on you in any way. Let them know just how appreciative you are of what they have done or are doing for you. A letter, as opposed to an e-mail or a text message, really shows that you mean what you say as it takes just that little bit more effort to write a letter and put a stamp on it.
As the saying goes, what goes around, comes around, so if you find yourself being more kind and gracious in 2019, I imagine those around you will be more kind and gracious to you as well.
