Tractor Trailer Crash Closes Part of I88 for Over 10 Hours

New York State Police are investigating the cause of a tractor-trailer rollover accident that closed a portion of Interstate 88 near Unadilla for hours and sent the driver to the hospital.

The tractor-trailer tipped, spilling cargo and fuel on I88 eastbound shortly before 5:30 p.m. January 21 and Troopers said the road between exits 10 and 12 would be closed for hours.

Authorities reported the highway was totally reopened before 5 a.m. January 22.

The driver was taken to Wilson Hospital for treatment of head and rib pain.

No other information about the crash, what cargo the truck was hauling or the extent of the driver’s injuries was available this morning.
