I went through a phase where I would only add creamer to my coffee after dinner as sort of a dessert and only for one cup of coffee. The rest of the time, I drank my coffee black. I did this because I was really conscious about my weight and knew how many calories adding creamer in each cup would amount to considering I drank about two pots of coffee a day back then.

For a couple of years, I fell off the bandwagon and would load my cup up with more creamer than coffee until I looked into the mirror one day and realized that I'd packed on way too many pounds by overindulging in flavored creamers. If you've come to the realization that you need to cut back on your daily calorie intake but don't think that coffee creamer really plays such a big deal in your extra weight gain, think again. According to UPI, people who drink their coffee black, tend to take in 69 fewer calories a day than people who add creamer.

According to Bonnie Liebman who is the nutrition director of the Center for Science in the Public Interest,

"Anyone glancing at the Nutrition Facts label for most of these coffee creamers would have a false sense of security.

It's more like 45 calories and 3 grams of heart-harmful saturated fat and three of four servings in office coffee daily and a person can consume half a day's saturated fat via coffee creamer.

Yeah, about that creamer...
