States of Emergency are still in effect for a number of regions including Broome and Tioga Counties and the Town of Conklin due to high water and flash flood damage.  While unnecessary travel is discouraged, it is not banned.

Still several roads and streets are closed. As of late August 14, Blakeslee Road in Kirkwood, Pleasant Hill from Porter Hollow to Hunt Hill in Colesville, Sally Piper Road from Endwell greens to case Road in Endwell, Blatchley Road at Farr Road to the Pennsylvania Line in Windsor and in Conklin: multiple locations on Route 7 from Corbettsville to the Pennsylvania line, Banta Road, State Route 7 near Conklin Forks Road and Fox Hollow Road were still closed.

Road conditions are being periodically rechecked.  Residents can check www.gobroomecounty.com for updates on roads in Broome that remain closed.

Meanwhile, in the City of Binghamton, Upper Court Street from Broad Avenue to around the back entrance to the Greater Binghamton Health Complex, the former State Hospital, was closed this morning due to mud left across the road from receding water.

In Bradford County at 9 p.m. August 14, Route 187 between Route 6 in Wysox and Wyalusing/New Albany Road, Route 220 in Albany Township, Route 409 in Wyalusing Township, Route 706 in Wyalusing and Stevens Townships, Still Mill Hollow Road in Tuscarora Township, Herrickville Road, Irish Ridge Road, Leraysville Road, Route 2010, Route 2024, Route 4011 and Route 4017 in Windham, Rome, Towanda, Smithfield and Springfield Townships all had areas that were closed.  Susquehanna County also had several closures with extensive flooding in Franklin and Franklin Forks. An Emergency Declaration has been called by the County Commissioners. Also experiencing damage in Susquehanna County: Hallstead, Great Bend, Lenox, Liberty, Choconut, Forest Lake and Apolocan Townships.

Many school districts around the region cancelled their morning academic and sports programs and MacIntosh Laboratories in Binghamton closed down operations for the day August 15.
