The Board of Elections November 8 said there was an issue with a voting machine in the Town of Barker that resulted in the votes from that unit not initially being included in the Election Night tally. 129 votes were added to Tenney’s column.  Brindisi leads Tenney now by 1, 293 votes while election night that lead had been put at 1, 422 votes.

In the 22nd Congressional District, about 13,000 paper ballots need to be counted.  The final result for the tight race may not be official for a week or more and there is still the possibility of a recount should neither candidate concede the race.

Another New York Congressional race still up in the air is near Buffalo.  A recount has been requested by Democrat Nate McMurray.  McMurray had initially conceded defeat to Republican Congressman Chris Collins, who faces trial in 2020 on charges of insider trading and lying to the FBI.  Election night, Collins was shown almost 3.000 votes ahead.

As in the 22nd District, thousands of absentee ballots need to be counted and the vote certified.
