Several brands of dog food have been recalled because of deadly levels of Vitamin D.

The Food and Drug Administration has recalled the following brands of dry dog food:

  • ELM Pet Products
  • Nutrisca,
  • Natural Life Pet Products
  • Sunshine Mills

Dogs who consume too much Vitamin D can present symptoms such as vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, excessive drooling, and weight loss. The over-consumption of Vitamin D can result in kidney failure in dogs.
