One of the greatest things that the Binghamton Rumble Ponies do other than offer some really great baseball is that they are continually giving back to our community and local not-for-profit organizations through the "We Care Wednesday" promotion that they host during each Wednesday home game.

This Wednesday, August 1st, the Ponies will return to Binghamton for a four-game set against the Hartford Yard Goats and their We Care Wednesday will focus on raising funds and awareness about Stand With Me, a local non-profit which lends support to local military veterans.

Stand With Me Assistance Dog Team Training, Inc provides a service-dog training program for local veterans who have proudly served our country and who have a service-related mental health disability. In addition to skills, teaching and coaching, support, and encouragement, Stand With Me also provides assistance in obtaining a canine candidate for the program for veterans who don’t already have a dog. Those who have utilized the recourses provided by Stand With Me say that the non-profit has had a profound and positive impact on quality of life for them and their dog.

Stand With Me will be on hand at the Binghamton Rumble Ponies game this Wednesday night where 50% from each ticket sold will be given to their organization. They plan to raffle off items, hold a 50/50 raffle, and will have a few of their ambassador dogs at the game. The executive director of Stand With Me will briefly speak on the field about what the organization does before one of their dogs delivers the "first pitch" of the game. Senator Akshar is also planning to attend in support of Stand With Me.

If you're planning to attend the game on Wednesday, take a minute to learn more about Stand With Me and consider making a donation so that they can continue their mission to support our local veterans.
