The National Weather Service says an extended period of wet weather is anticipated for the afternoon of October 31 through Friday, November 2 as a moist frontal zone stalls out over the region with multiple waves of rain.

Forecasters say details are not clear as of 7 a.m. October 29, but there is at least some potential for excessive rainfall.  Given that the ground that is already very wet and unable to absorb much additional water, there is a potential for some minor flooding in poor drainage areas.

Residents are encouraged to monitor the forecast in coming days.

For people thinking about weather-appropriate Halloween costumes:  The fisherman on the frozen fish sticks box is an idea or attach strips of plastic garbage bag to the outside edge and a few on the inside ribs of an umbrella to make a cute jellyfish costume.
