New Program Helps Broome Small Businesses Grow

The Agency local development group is working with Broome County to assist start-up and small existing businesses in the county to refinance existing debt.

The agency says it has a $300,000 commitment from the county to provide up to $50,000 in assistance to eligible businesses.

Officials say the BR+E initiative is hoped to not only encourage new businesses to start up in the area but help those that have planted roots here to stay.  Many times, companies find themselves maxed out in their financing, putting them at risk at putting off expansion or worse, going out of business.

The Agency funding is being offered on a first-come, first-serve basis for eligible businesses.
