Deputies say 29-year-old Nicholas Stultz of Bradford, New Hampshire appeared to have fallen asleep behind the wheel of the Jeep Liberty at the entrance to Grace Christian Fellowship Church on Fisher Avenue.

The Deputy interviewing Stultz says he saw the drug paraphernalia in the driver’s side door console then saw the pistol magazine and rounds under the driver’s seat.  Further investigation turned up a small amount of marijuana, several smoking devices, and the unregistered semi-automatic handgun.

Authorities say the gun was not registered in the State of News York and Stultz did not have a permit to possess the pistol.

Stultz is charged with criminal possession of a weapon and was sent to the Cortland County Jail on $2,000 bail.
