A wayward snake that slithered out of an enclosure in a Binghamton apartment a few days ago has been located.

Brian Kaminsky, the owner of a boa constrictor he calls Bella, said she was found Wednesday morning.

Kaminsky said the snake was discovered hiding behind the kitchen sink in his West Side apartment near Binghamton High School.

Kaminsky told WNBF News "everything is fine." He said "she was a little nervous" when she was found "but was perfectly calm."

The boa constrictor's owner contacted the Broome County Humane Society about his pet's disappearance and the organization posted information on its website.

Broome County officials Tuesday night said reports about the missing snake resulted in "dozens of calls" to the 911 dispatch center. The call volume prompted the county to issue a statement reassuring people that the boa constrictor posed little risk to the public.
